Dunn Making Decision Today

August 23rd, 2011
New England Recruiting Report

Kris Dunn is reportedly down to UConn and Providence with an announcement set for later this afternoon.

Kris Dunn, the second ranked point guard in the national class, told ESPN senior recruiting analyst Dave Telep that he would announce a verbal commitment to either Connecticut or Providence this afternoon.

Dunn also told Telep that he would no longer be transferring to Wilbraham and Monson Academy and instead staying in New London to graduate from New London High School.

Dunn led the Whalers to a state championship last year as a junior.

The announcement is somewhat unexpected for a number of reasons, but none more than the fact that Connecticut didn't look to be recruiting Dunn as hard as other Big East programs including Louisville, Georgetown, and others this weekend.

Could this mean a big commitment is on the way for new Providence head coach Ed Cooley?
