Many of New England’s top prep school programs will be traveling to Boston this weekend for the BABC Prep Invitational.
With the Hoophall Classic doing away with prep school teams this year, BABC has stepped up to host many of the areas top programs for the second year event on Martin Luther King weekend.
The action will tip off at 12 noon on Saturday, January 16th as Notre Dame Prep takes on Bridgton Academy in the first game of an impressive triple header. The Tilton School will face Brimmer & May at 1:45 followed by Cushing Academy and Brewster Academy at 3:30.
Sunday’s action will be no less exciting as Brimmer & May will take back to the court to face-off against Worcester Academy at noon, St. Thomas More will lock up with Brewster in a classic Class A battle at 1:45, Tilton will meet St. Andrew’s in a potential preview of the Class B final at 3:30, and another top contender in class B Marianapolis will face off against class C’s first place team Lawrence Academy at 5:00.
All in all, the event will feature seven highly competitive games, potentially 50 division I prospects, and as many as 20 high major players. Some of the biggest names in the field include: Andre Drummond, St. Thomas More; Will Barton, Brewster; Gerard Coleman, Tilton; Michael Carter-Williams, St. Andrew’s; Billy Baron, Worcester; Maurice Walker, Brewster; Shabazz Napier, Lawrence; Austin Carroll, Brewster; Domonique Bull, Cushing; Antonio Barton, Notre Dame Prep; Naadir Tharpe, Brewster; Cleveland Melvin, Notre Dame Prep; Trahson Burell, St. Thomas More; Melvin Ejim, Brewster; Ron Giplaye, Notre Dame Prep; Bryon Allen, St. Thomas More; C.J. Fair, Brewster; Egi Gjikondi, Cushing; Dashun Wiggins, Bridgton Academy; and Ricardo Ledo, St. Andrew’s.
